Mary Byrne is a plant developmental biologist at the University of Sydney. She completed her PhD at Monash University and postdoctoral research at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. Her research aims to understand the genetic regulation of plant shoot development focusing on defining genetic networks involved in the interaction between stem cell fate in the meristem and differentiated fate in lateral organs, and in establishing leaf shape.
