Dolf Weijers is the Chair of Biochemistry at Wageningen University, in the Netherlands. He completed a PhD at Leiden University, Netherlands, and postdoctoral research at the University of Tübingen, Germany, with a Long-Term Postdoctoral Fellowship from the European Molecular Biology Organisation. His research addresses several aspects of the auxin pathway in Arabidopsis thaliana, using a wide variety of techniques from biochemistry and cell biology to mathematics and bioinformatics. This approach has enabled the dissection of molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the complex process of embryogenesis, particularly in transcriptional regulation involved in the specification of cell types.
